Summer – As it is meant to be, in a word, Perfect! The days can be spent on the lake with the temperatures near the 80’s. With the sun not setting until after 10:00 pm, the days seem endless. In the evening, temperatures can drop to the mid 50’s perfect for campfires. Summer is the height of the tourist season, with non-stop events and activities taking place around the lake from Memorial Day to Labor Day. The 4th of July celebrations, with its parades, and firework shows over the lake, embody what Flathead Lake living is all about.
Fall – Is a peaceful time on the lake, with the tourists gone. Many describe Flathead Lake’s “Indian Summer” as the best time of the year to be on the lake. The days are still warm, with people able to enjoy many of the activities of summer, but the evenings cool off, with a brisk feel in the air. The trees foliage begins to change colors and life slows down.
Winter – Like, summer brings an increase of people to the area wanting to enjoy our winter recreational activities. With two ski resorts close by, miles of cross country skiing, and snowmobile trails, there is plenty of fun to have. People also come to Montana in search of the perfect Christmas Holiday experience. With all of the towns decorated for the holidays, covered in snow, and lots of holiday events taking place, the Flathead becomes a winter wonderland.
Spring – As the snow starts to melt in the mountains, the forests and meadows spring back to life. This is a time to enjoy nature, watching new born baby dear learn to walk, cherry trees on the lake starting to blossom, and the river waters begin to rage. The area starts making preparation for the long summer ahead.
